A place to warn members of scam members.

I just had a brief chat with someone who lead me to
believe she was from Country by posing as a woman interested
in getting to know men off the site. Messaged me with IM
nick. Connected with each other on the service...then
progressively found out she wasn't even a citizen in a round
about way. So what i am wondering is if the Site could set
up an area where anyone who has come across this could
mentio who it was, and the name they used. Plus a small
amount of info about the way they operate when chatting.
would that be feasible?? At least this way members can check
it out to protect themselves from these unethical people!!

Re: A place to warn members of scam members.

I've noticed that too. There's something
strange about this site. I've been on another like it. That
site had a lot of spammers and scammers, too. They probably
all do. But on that other site, the scammers never
bothered to talk to me. All they were interested in was
getting an e-mail address to spam. If they didn't get one in
the initial message they wouldn't bother to respond --
ever. But here I've messaged at least six profiles of
women who supposedly live close to me, that have responded.
And we've begun exchanging e-mails through this site. But it
becomes painfully obvious after about three e-mails that the
person is not who their profile says they are. The
messages they send are usually very brief. They never answer
any questions I ask. The messages usually just use different
words to say the same thing, something like, "I think you're
terribly sexy and I like it all night long..." Over and
over again the same message with different words. Even after
I say, "That sounds great! Would you like to meet?" The next
e-mail from her says the same thing (with different words)
that the last one says. I still haven't figured out why
they do this, what the motivation might be. But it is kind
of frustrating. And I agree that having a place on the
site to post these people's names would be good. The site
would probably have to put a disclaimer on it so that
members knew it was not the opinion of the site that the
list was scammers, but rather only the opinion of other
members. And the site would probably have to include a
way for a person to remove themselves from the list.
Inevitably someone would end up on it who was not a scammer
either by mistake or out of malice for some reason.

Re: A place to warn members of scam members.

Hello,

This is a very interesting post and we will
definitely address the issue in our next meeting. The
unethical messages that you have been getting are definitely
not from the site because why would IwantU send you a
message to invite you to another site if we already have you
part of ours. In any case our support department
receives daily reports of unethical members and we have
daily procedures to investigate and block those accounts. So
the idea of the list with names is not much of a help
because the accounts are already blocked. If you would
like to assist us in keeping the site a fun place, then we
ask you to click on the “report abuse” link at the bottom of
the message and send us the handle name as well as message
that you have received from the member for investigation. It
will be our pleasure to look into it and block any account
that is not authentic. We thank you for your sincere
opinion and we always invite you to email us at the
following link
http://support.iwantu.com/contact.love Have fun on
IwantU!

Re: A place to warn members of scam members.

what about members with multiple profiles? I've seen the
same photo used in for members in different cities and
sometimes countries. There is no way to "flag" these
members. Is there a legitimate reason to see the same pic
for a member in two, three and more cities? Before I get
off my soapbox, I'd like the IWU team to weigh in on
obviously fake profiles. The city and state is shown as one
thing, but the body of the profile reveals something
different. Usually it is about a Russian girl looking for
her true love. Other adult dating sites have the ability to
flag where the profile was originated from. This way, if a
member lists their city as Dallas, but originated from
Nigera, something doesn't add up. Please support the people
that support you by doing what you can to keep fake and scan
profiles limited.
