Re: A place to warn members of scam members.
I've noticed that too. There's something
strange about this site. I've been on another like it. That
site had a lot of spammers and scammers, too. They probably
all do.
But on that other site, the scammers never
bothered to talk to me. All they were interested in was
getting an e-mail address to spam. If they didn't get one in
the initial message they wouldn't bother to respond --
ever.
But here I've messaged at least six profiles of
women who supposedly live close to me, that have responded.
And we've begun exchanging e-mails through this site. But it
becomes painfully obvious after about three e-mails that the
person is not who their profile says they are.
The
messages they send are usually very brief. They never answer
any questions I ask. The messages usually just use different
words to say the same thing, something like, "I think you're
terribly sexy and I like it all night long..."
Over and
over again the same message with different words. Even after
I say, "That sounds great! Would you like to meet?" The next
e-mail from her says the same thing (with different words)
that the last one says.
I still haven't figured out why
they do this, what the motivation might be. But it is kind
of frustrating.
And I agree that having a place on the
site to post these people's names would be good. The site
would probably have to put a disclaimer on it so that
members knew it was not the opinion of the site that the
list was scammers, but rather only the opinion of other
members.
And the site would probably have to include a
way for a person to remove themselves from the list.
Inevitably someone would end up on it who was not a scammer
either by mistake or out of malice for some reason.
